Mercedes A. San Miguel, CPA
Ms. San Miguel has practiced public accounting since 1979 when she obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Florida International University and commenced working with Sanson, Kline, Jacomino and Company CPAs. In 1981 she was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida. She later began working with Coopers & Lybrand focusing on international clients in the tax department. She obtained her Masters of Science in Taxation from Florida International University in 1986. After a brief period in private industry, Ms. San Miguel opened her own public accounting practice in 1990 and maintains an office in Coral Gables. In 2013, she became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.
Ms. San Miguel served on the Board of the Cuban-American CPAs and became their President in 1987. She is a past Director and Treasurer of the South Dade Chapter of the Florida Institute of CPAs and maintains her membership with the American Institute of CPAs.
In prior years, Ms. San Miguel was past Advisory Board member, mentor and judge with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).
At the moment, she serves on the Board of Trustees for Our Lady of Lourdes Academy in South Miami, her alma mater. Ms. San Miguel is married and has 2 grown sons.
